The article that I found talks about the criticsim of Slaughterhouse Five. It says that the novel leads to quietism and it springs from a sense of hopelessness. The critics associate the hopelessness with predestination and fatalism. The main character is is an object of satire. They think the narrator of Slaughterhouse Five, which is the main character, makes himself the narrator over and over to show the big difference between serenity and his own restless. The serenity that is in this novel, is with the narrator which wants to avert the gaze from all the bad events. Tim Woods also said that the novel dramatize the need and commitment t justice and ethical responsibility way too much. In my opinion, I think this article is pretty accurate.
